We are not here to bake FANCY THINGS. We are here to FEED the PEOPLE. Raw ingredients. Hot ovens.no compromises.
DAY 1 - MONDAY
GET SOME FLOUR
Wherever you are... get up and get that flour. The best is bread flour of some sort. Make sure to get a small 1/4oz (7g) bag of dried yeast as well. If you’ve done that, you are good for the day. ;)
DAY 2 - TUESDAY
MIX AND BAKE
Dump the little bag of yeast into a bowl and pour a 12oz can of BEER on top. (Add water if you don’t have beer at hand.)
Mix in 5 cups of bread flour, 4 tablespoons of olive or any oil you have. (If you have no oil, just leave it out.)
Add a big teaspoon of salt and a tablespoon of sugar and mix with any mixer you have. (Use a fork if you have none until well combined, then work the dough with your hands.)
Clean the bowl, oil the sides of the bowl well. Put the dough back in the bowl and cover it with cling film. Leave it out on the counter.
Now go and watch a movie. :)
By now the dough has doubled it’s size.
Divide the dough it into four almost equal parts. Nicely form and round the four individual pieces. Put them on a baking tray. Sprinkle with water and cover with cling film.
Preheat the oven to 360°F (or 185°C) and go watch an episode of your favorite TV series.
Remove the cling film, score the pieces of the dough with a sharp knife, CAREFULLY. Just make a cross cut.
Time to bake, put them in the oven. Bake it for around 40-45 minutes. You can watch another episode of TV series in the meantime.
Let it cool down and ENJOY! ;)
DAY 3 - WEDNESDAY
BEST DAY OF THE WEEK
While enjoying the bread you made... mix 1/2 cup of flour with 1/2 of water in a jar. Close it and leave it out on the counter top. ;)
DAY 4 - THURSDAY
GOING WILD
Make sure you add another 1/2 a cup of flour with an additional 1/2 cup of water in the jar. Mix it well, close it and leave it out on the counter once again.
Your WILD STARTER is what is in the making. Just do it. ;)
